Bonds were issued, and construction of the newly renamed garden state parkway began again in july 1952. The change was due to the construction just north of there that has some of the southbound lanes shifted to the northbound roadway for bridge work and expanding exit 125.
Take the george washington bridge to route 4 west.
From tinton falls to the southern end of the parkway at cape may, trucks are allowed, but must pay additional tolls. Vaux hall (northbound only, 142 miles). That skips all kinds of potential headaches on the tappan zee bridge and on 287. Get off exit 17 and follow the signs to 84 east.
